Low Fat Yoghurt with Pear and Cranberry Compote

Homemade compotes made with a little honey are much lower in sugar than purchased varieties and are a good way to use very ripe or frozen fruits.

Ingredients

1 large pear, peeled, cored and diced   (200g)
Fresh cranberries  (100g)
1 tsp honey  (8g)
Pinch of cinnamon
Low fat Greek yoghurt  (400g)

Method

  1. Place the pear and cranberries in a small saucepan with 1 tbsp of water. Add the cinnamon and honey and cook over a medium heat for around five minutes until the fruit starts to break down.
  2. Spoon the fruit compote into bowls.It can be served warm or chilled.
  3. Serve with the yoghurt.
